Fertiliser Coating Plants & Engineering

Fertiliser Coating Plants & Engineering

Project-specific fertiliser coating plants: treatment chemistry, process engineering, dosing, automation, commissioning and ongoing technical support from CEON AGRI.

CHEMISTRY · PROCESS · PLANT · SUPPORT

From fertiliser chemistry
to a working production line.

CEON develops project-specific fertiliser coating systems, bringing the treatment chemistry, process design, equipment and operating support into one coordinated scope.

For producers, blenders and investment partners planning a new line or adapting an existing operation. Our London and Belfast offices support UK, Ireland and international project enquiries.

ONE COORDINATED PROJECT

Define the product.
Engineer the process.

Equipment selection starts with the base fertiliser, coating system and operating window. The plant and chemistry are specified together.

01

Treatment chemistry

NBPT, DMPP, DCD and carbon or humic formulation routes, selected for the feed material, intended product and destination.

02

Process definition

Preparation, dosing, spray distribution and mixer conditions developed around actual solids flow and product quality.

03

Plant delivery

Equipment, automation and site interfaces, with installation support and an agreed commissioning programme.

04

Operating support

Operator training, procedures, chemistry supply, spares and optimisation within the contracted service scope.

THE COATING LINE

Two streams.
One controlled process.

The coating dose follows the measured fertiliser mass flow. Recipes, interlocks and traceable quality checks connect application to release.

Solid feed

Fertiliser handling

Buffer storage · weighing · metered flow

Liquid feed

Coating preparation

Storage · preparation tank · metering pumps

Controlled application

Spray system + coating mixer

Flow measurement · spray distribution · recipe controls · interlocks

Quality gate

Check & release

Representative sampling · agreed acceptance tests · lot traceability

Finished product

CHOOSE THE SITE ROUTE

Integrate a line.
Or build a dedicated operation.

INTEGRATED DOWNSTREAM LINE

Connect to an existing or planned plant.

Review tie-in points, upstream and downstream capacity, shutdown access, bypass arrangements and controls integration. Dosing and product transfer are coordinated with the host line.

  • Handling and packing interfaces
  • PLC recipes and site DCS communication
  • Utilities, access and installation windows

STANDALONE COATING LINE

Run from stored fertiliser feed.

Define storage, feed logistics, the coating area and finished-product handling around campaign production. Changeovers and cleaning are planned for the intended product portfolio.

  • Stock-fed production campaigns
  • Footprint and storage requirements
  • Bagged or bulk finished-product routes

PROJECT DELIVERY SCOPE

From design basis
to operator handover.

A turnkey package can combine plant delivery and recurring chemistry support, or these can be contracted separately.

01

Engineering

Design basis, process layout, equipment duties and interface definition.

02

Equipment

Tanks, pumps, flow measurement, spray manifolds, mixer or drum and transfer systems.

03

Automation

Recipes, dosing logic, interlocks, traceability and integration with site controls.

04

Installation support

Equipment integration and coordination against the agreed site responsibilities.

05

Commissioning

Calibration, operating checks and product trials against an agreed acceptance protocol.

06

Training & procedures

Operator handover, cleaning, changeover, sampling and operating procedures.

07

Chemistry supply

Initial and recurring coating formulation supply within the product and commercial specification.

08

After-sales support

Technical support, spares planning and process optimisation under the service agreement.

Civil works, utilities, local labour, shipping and customs responsibilities are agreed in the project scope. Capacity, cost and schedule follow the site design basis.

TECHNOLOGY SELECTION

Match the chemistry
to the nitrogen pathway.

NBPT · urease inhibition

For specified urea treatment routes, addressing the initial urea hydrolysis step.

DMPP / DCD · nitrification inhibition

For qualified stabilised-nitrogen routes, acting on the conversion of ammonium to nitrate.

Urea-based nitrification-inhibitor routes and dual-treatment systems are specified for the base fertiliser, treatment chemistry and destination. Compatibility, stability and product-specific claims are assessed within the agreed supply and plant scope. Carbon and humic routes are assessed separately; their inclusion does not establish inhibitor or controlled-release performance.

QUALITY BUILT INTO THE BRIEF

Agree what success
will be measured against.

  • 01

    Dose and distribution

Mass balance, representative sampling and coating uniformity.

  • 02

    Product integrity

Active-content assay where applicable, moisture, granule strength, dust and caking checks.

  • 03

    Traceable release

Lot records, acceptance criteria, deviation handling and product hold procedures.
